On 14 June 2023, Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board of Directors made a decision to merge Kemi Shipping Oy into Metsäliitto Cooperative by means of a subsidiary merger. The merger is scheduled to take place by the end of 2023.

The reason for the merger is to simplify the governance structure of Kemi Shipping Oy and to harmonize the operating models of Kemi Shipping and Metsä Group. Kemi’s port and stevedoring operations will be part of Metsä Group’s procurement and logistics organization.

Immediately no changes will take place but at later stage you will receive more information for example about new billing address or other relevant information.
